Vile Speech Defending “A Good Man”

Wherever President Donald Trump is concerned, we can be sure even in his best moments “a stench of odorous speech” is not far behind!

It is incomprehensible than a President of the United States would resort to such vile speech, trashing an honorable woman who criticized the Kavanaugh nomination for Supreme Court justice.  Professor Christine Blasey Ford says she did this “as part of her felt civic duty to this country!”  Even Republican senators, Jeff Flake of Arizona and Susan Collins of Maine describe this speech by Trump at a political rally to “be wrong, just plain wrong” (BBC news).  Both senators are key swing votes on this nomination, who have yet to declare their vote.  It will be interesting to see how the final vote to confirm or not to confirm occurs.

President Trump cannot resist the urge to go to “vile speech” when characterizing the testimony of women, but in the same breath calls Brett Kavanaugh, “a good family man.”  How are we ever to know whom to believe? Who would want to be confirmed after such a display by this President?  If I were Brett Kavanaugh, I would withdraw my name simply to protest the vile nature of this President and his debasing treatment of women.

We are now aware that President Donald Trump is not a self-made millionaire, but is in fact a child of privilege, having been made a millionaire by the age of 8 by his doting father, Fred Trump, who rescued his privileged son, Donald, from financial disaster after disaster over many years, to the equivalent by news reports of at least $416 million dollars. Much of this transfer of wealth was either given in loans where were never repaid, or in a blatant transfer of wealth using dubious schemes over many years so that legitimate taxes would never be paid on the great bulk of the $1 billion+ estate which Trump’s father accumulated in his 90 year lifetime (see New York Times report, released on 10/3/2018 after 18months of research). Will justice ever find the light of day in this President’s life?

The 2018 midterm elections are currently up for grabs.  Prediction range from dire for Republicans in loss of the House majority, to not so bad if the economy holds up, as Republicans might retain the Senate.  The unknown factor is the role that women will play in this next election.  President Trump’s popularity with women is low, some say historically low.  White men in America now feel “imperiled” and under assault by the “# Me Too” movement.  Being a white male myself, I do not feel white men are imperiled.  Rather we should be ready to adjust to this new reality of women empowered.  Women are not second rate human beings, they are instead our partners in life.  Perhaps if white men and other men could learn to sexualize women less and learn to talk to women more appropriately as equal human beings made in the image of God as we are ourselves made, we could perhaps develop more-healthy relationships built upon cooperation instead of competition.

White men, and the so called “alpha male” as President Trump and President Putin of Russia are called, are the anomaly of the new age which is coming.  These type of men are the dinosaurs waiting for the asteroid to explode and kill them in a great fiery heat.  They will be replaced by the furry mammals that scurry underground surviving the fiery holocaust and emerge later to dominate the earth as homo-sapiens, female and male.

After the election of this white man of privilege, wealth, and entitlement, who represents an aberration in American Politics in the 21^st century, I predict no president in the future will ever be elected without revealing his past tax returns and without also being vetted fully by the FBI.  The American citizens should not be required to endure the first two years of a presidency having to deal with the crap, lies, shit and vileness coming out of this President.  Let us begin our election process with vetted candidates who at least pay their taxes on time honestly and above the level of fraud, who more than 50% of the time tell the truth, and who are not currently sleeping around on their respected spouses, if married.  This should be the minimum requirement to hold this national office of the President of the United States!  (I am not talking about the local dog catcher!)  This current President meets none of these criteria and by this standard would have never been foisted upon the American public.  He could have remained in the fantasy land of Reality TV from whence he sprang, and we would have never known his jets and his tailored suits were all bought with “daddy’s money”.

These are reasonable suggestions that would suit reasonable persons like me.  I am tired of all the drama! Get this man off the world stage and take him somewhere and lock him up for a while, so he can no longer damage our national life and health in any way, anymore, so help us God!  Perhaps a good rest in a mental hospital might help him gain a more compassionate perspective on life as most of us know it!

Prayer:  “Lord Jesus Christ, Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of this world, have mercy upon us!  Remove from us all vile speech and those who make it known.  Cleanse us from politicians who believe that “might makes right” and instead give us those women and men with servant hearts, who delight to serve you and others, for the sake of the greater good of the community and for the sake of the well-being of their fellow women, men and children.  Remove from our political life those who only live for graft, power and “money, money, money…”  Give us reasonable men and women of reasonable temperament, who seek compromise over contest, the enrichment of all over the enrichment of the few and who work together with others, even those who are of differing opinions and differing colors than themselves.

Give us, O Lord Jesus Christ, a society of many colors, and not of the lily white.  As the colors of the rainbow spring from white light when a prism in placed between initial source and final place of being, let persons of color enrich our nation and fill us with a never ending kaleidoscope of beauty, so that we may indeed be transformed from those who seek to “make America first” to those who “make America the servant of all humankind!”

Lord Jesus Christ, we know we can be better than this, better than the vile things we see and witness on the evening news and the morning tweets of our current President.  Show us the way, Lord Jesus Christ, so that we do not languish in the hopelessness of the defeated, but instead rise above vileness into the newness of life given by your Redemptive Life!  Heal us, help us and deliver us, O Lord, Savior of all humankind, women, men and children, of all races, tribes, peoples and tongues, in Jesus Christ our Lord, made into one new humanity, in Christ, world without end.  Amen and Amen.”

Let all of God’s people say, “Amen!”
