“Trump’s Derangement Syndrome”

“Trump Derangement Syndrome” is an expression those supporters of President Trump have taken to apply to David Koch, who has recently criticized Trump in a break with him over tariffs.  This is an apt description of the Republican Party, who are becoming “deranged by Trump”, as he is tearing the party apart in his effort to remake it into his own image.  The traditional, conservative Republican agenda of small government, free trade and low taxes is no more.  President Trump has instead offered something so bizarre as to be unintelligible.  His administration is even now floating a proposal to lower the taxes on the wealthy even more, to use inflation as a way to reduce the tax on capital gains.  What about the middle class, Mr. President?  What about those who are still trying to make it to the middle class?  What about these citizens, too?

Trump is the one who is deranged.  He is a President who utters whatever thoughts happen to form in his little mind and spouts off whatever he happens to feel is the appropriate comment for the moment.  He knows very little about anything, but attempts to say something about everything.  For example, Trump’s pure ignorance is on display tonight at a Republican event in Florida.  Trump remarked, “You even need a driver’s license to buy groceries!”  In what planet is he on?  Trying to make a point for voter registration, he shows his ignorance of even the basic laws of state governance!  Is this man an idiot?  Does he read anything?  Does he have even the remote semblance of common sense that an 8 year old child might have?

Those who support him enjoy having him in power as they are accomplishing things only dreamed of.  They enjoy ripping apart the constitutional process of government and have given to governing by Presidential tweet.  No longer is legislation brought for deliberation.  Instead the president tweets something in the morning and attempts to institute it by that afternoon.  The only checks and balances on this deranged president has been the federal courts who regularly strike down his bizarre initiatives.  Does anyone know if all the children separated from their parents have been reunited?  Why is this man allowed to shred the constitution, destroy human rights, trample on the poor, stick up his finger at whomever gets in his way?

Who gave this man the power to be king?  Has everyone forgot why we fought the revolutionary war?  What has happened to our democracy under this insane President?  He has reduced our democracy to tatters much like the original flag!  Betsy Ross, where are you today?  President Trump and his crony lawyer remarks that “collusion is not a crime.”  Mr. President, have your ever heard about “conspiracy to commit a crime?”  If you knew anything about criminal intent, you would know when Paul Manafort’s trial is over, and Gates testifies against him, the next focus will be coming toward you.  Thank God for Robert Mueller!  At least there is one man who still has integrity in this nation!

It will give me the greatest satisfaction to see your agenda reduced to rubble! “Ashes to ashes, dust to dust!” so shall we proclaim the downfall of your presidency!

I met a man on my recent travel overseas who is from Hong Kong.  He handles about a third of all the commerce of Hong Kong and parts of Southeast Asia.  I asked him what he thought of President Trump.  The part I understood most clearly is that this Chinese businessmen thought him an idiot. He said other things even more derogatory than that.  I have never before heard a Chinese businessman speak in such derogatory terms about our President. In the past at least there was deference.  Yet,  I have come to agree with this Chinese businessman.  It is a sad day for our democracy when the whole world realizes we are being led by an idiot.

This quarter’s business report is out.  The economy grew at 4%, the best in years.  President Trump took credit for this.  He failed to take note that the growth was sustained by the Chinese buying all the soybeans for a whole year in order to beat the tariffs about to be imposed.  What others did the same, buying before the tariffs begin? Most economists say this growth will not be sustained.  When inflation kicks in due to the tariffs around October this year, will our illustrious President take credit for that?  I doubt it.  If he cannot blame the Democrats of “crooked Hillary,” he will call it fake news.

This president has lost all credibility.  He cannot tell the truth from a lie, as he does not remember today what he said yesterday.  When journalists point out his contradictory statements, he blasts them, and says something more bizarre to get attention off the stupid things he said or did the day before.  Now those who still support this idiot, you tell me why?  This is not the United States I grew up in nor is it the place I want to live in today.  I have heard enough lies and stupid things coming from this one Presidents mouth to last me for a lifetime!  If you like this man as your President, there is something seriously wrong with you!  May God help us all!

The voice of one crying in the wilderness, “Make straight in this desert a highway for our God.”

“O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth!  The whole earth, even this whole universe is full of your glory!  We are happy that in You and in your Holy Word, truth still prevails!  In your name is righteousness, goodness, truth, peace and joy!  As we look unto You today, as we remember those things Your Son, Jesus Christ has taught us, we are made glad and we rejoice that the terrible things happening in our day, these too shall pass… In your kingdom of righteousness, goodness and love all liars and makers of fake news are thrown outside into the place of weeping and gnashing of teeth.   We look forward to the day when you separate the sheep (your heavenly children in Christ Jesus) from the goats (children of this world).  Until that great day, help us ever to be mindful the end is not yet.  If you choose to use an idiot to bring about your kingdom work, by humbling our nation before all the world, then we will rejoice and be glad in your love.  We pray for you to save us from bad government.   But more than that, we pray we will always be found to be part of your kingdom of love, grace, mercy, goodness and peace.  Enable us to preach to good news in the midst of so much destruction of human lives and confusion of governance.  For we together pray, with good hope, faith and confidence in our Savior and Redeemer, in Jesus name, we pray.  Amen and Amen!”
