“Donald Trump, a Sorry Commander in Chief”

While some may be enamored with our so-called President, I am not one of them.  Among those who have served as President of this great nation, the United States of America, this man is the worst President to have ever sat in this public office.  I am and continue to be amazed and dismayed at the awfulness of this President.  Having lost all respect for this man, I have now lost respect for the office which he carries.  It is a truly sad day in the history of this nation, when as citizens we are witnessing the dismantling of the last 70 years of democratic leadership of the free world, in which the United States of America served as both the leader and the representative of a democratic world order.  In less than two years, this awful, terrible, distasteful human being has managed to dismantle and continues to dismantle all the hard earned democratic and libertarian values of our free democracy!  This is, for me, so unthinkable as to be untenable, and yet daily I witness another chipping away at the alliance of Europe, the USA, Canada, Mexico, Japan and the other parts of the Free World nations which until Donald Trump (I pause to spit on the earth when I mouth his name!) were united in so many respects in a free and democratic ideal.

Today, this sorry man announced he wanted to invite Russia back into the G-7. Has he forgotten Crimea?  Is this man an idiot?  He apparently cares nothing about the common values of democracy and the free world!  He cozies up to dictators, Putin and Kim Jong – Un and disdains France, England, Canada calling them “so-called allies”.  The trade surplus with Canada is billions in our favor, yet he quotes statistics on dairy products.  The amount of pork Mexico buys from the United States under NAFTA makes them our largest customer.  Yet he calls these dear people “rapists and thieves.”   Since WWII, and the Marshall Plan, the United States has favored and encouraged a free trading relationship with Europe.  We all have prospered from it.  We have the NATO alliance, for God’s sake.  Instead, this sorry ass of a President would rather consort with Putin and watch prostitutes urinating on themselves than support May, Merkel and the Macron of France.

This sorry, sorry so-called President insults our allies and praises our enemies.  How much money did Putin help this man laundry though Russia?  Putin has the goods on this President.  He is a compromised man, not worthy of a salute and certainly not fit to be the Commander –in – Chief of the armed forces.  I will never serve in any army he commands, nor will I swear allegiance to a demagogue!  This man is dangerous to our democracy; he is a cancer growing more and more by the day.  Would to God we could spew him out of our mouths and recover health, humanity and sanity in government again!

This sorry, sorry man who pretends to be President, but he is not my President, openly declares himself to be above the law.  He will even pardon himself.  He is already pardoning any who helped bring him to power.  He pardons the worst among us, but does nothing to help the innocents go free from unjust imprisonments.  He even criticizes our football players who have the courage to oppose his agenda, calling them “unpatriotic” for not saluting him and the flag.  Yet he daily treads over the flag with his dirty feet and dares to call them “unpatriotic.”  Were this not the USA, there would already be an uprising of the military and an attempted coup.

This president is openly racist, he plays to the worst racial undertones of our society, separating and not uniting our racially diverse country.  He cares about nothing, stands for nothing and is worth nothing!   Let us make his effigy of dollar bills and then burn it entirely.  He is worth no more to this nation than this dust of a burned dollar bill. He stands for nothing more than human greed and sacrifices our democratic ideals and the world order of the last 70 years to prove he can win the best deal.  This man is an idiot and should be called out as one!  I cannot believe we stand by and do nothing to stop this madness.  His hatred and racism, his demagoguery has contaminated all of our country.  It is making us sick and we have forgotten how to vomit!

This man is morally unfit to be our President.  He only upholds the law when it is convenient for him to do so.  He obstructs justice, he openly attacks those who oppose him.  As James Comey, former FBI director has said, “Donald Trump functions as a crime boss of the worse kind, demanding loyalty from all who serve under him.”  (I pause again to spit on the ground, such is the bitterness of speaking this man’s (Trump – Harrumph’s) name!)

In the past two days, two celebrated persons have both committed suicide.  Their sadness is reflected now in the society in which we live!  Coarseness, lewdness, rudeness, and lack of compassion for our fellow men and women reigns among us.  This is Donald Trump’s land.  The Republican Party is Donald Trump’s party.  This party is sacrificing our democratic ideals by not opposing this demagogue, this charlatan who is running our country!  I lay these sins of omission and commission at the feet of the Republican Party!  Save for a very few, they have brought no opposition to this President!  Are these men and women so corrupted by power and money as to have forgotten the values of our democracy?  Have we all become racists, misogynists and devoid of conscience like President Trump?

What is happening on the border towns with Mexico is a human tragedy!   Little children are being separated from their mothers and placed in foster care.   When these estranged children are finally put up for adoption, will this be the only means left for Hispanics to become American citizens?  I lay this sin of commission and omission at the foot of our President and the Republican Party! They have as yet not come to any agreement about immigration, much less helped the “dreamers” who are yet among us.

I say “Anathema” on those who shutter children into warehouses and put mothers into prisons!  Anathema!

I make this prayer, in the spirit of the God who redeems the lost and sets the prisoners free, in Jesus’s name.  Amen and Amen.
