“Chaos-Maker”

“Chaos-Maker” or “The President Who Would Be King”

Having neglected writing, as the flurry of tweets exiting the White House is now so confusing, I cannot decipher them all.  For several weeks, I find I am so far behind the news it is almost like “I have fallen off the edge of the world.” But then, the world I knew as a child no longer exists, as President Trump has destroyed it.   I expect, now, I will never catch up with things, and do not want to.  Instead, I have decided to offer a reflection or a summary statement which I feel goes right to the heart of our current historical situation.

Having been in the field of human medicine for the last twenty years or so, I am prepared to offer this observation.  I have observed among my patients certain individuals, who no matter in what circumstances they find themselves are quite adept at producing chaos in their wake.  I am not sure of the exact psychological term for such individuals, so I have coined my own term for this: “chaos-maker.” And in the case of President Trump, I have added this phrase: “The man who would be king!”  I hereby christen our President Trump, whom I affectionately call “Herrumph” as a “chaos-maker. This, of course, almost rhymes with his last name.  He is such a classic cartoon character, we must make a poem about him.  It would go something like this:

Our President Trump, he went “Harrumph!” when asked to welcome children.  “Harrumph,” he said again.  “Harrumph!”  “We have no place for them!”

“Let them all remain in Mexico! There rapists and criminals reside!”

“Otherwise, they might come here!  And find a safe place to hide.”

We should not protect the little children, otherwise they might make more!

And they would eat our food, and drink our drink and sleep on our blankets!

And then they would not starve, but live!  Why would we do that?”

“They are not white, like me, you see!  They are not billionaires!  I represent only the privileged few.  We have no place for them!”

And so, In Mexico, the children languished and there they wandered and died!  There is no place for them, you see, in the ‘good ole USA’.  And so, the gifts they bring to all mankind and to women, too, all dried up and were all left outside. The border wall proved too great a chasm for them!

And so, when President Trump dies and leaves this world, he will surely die alone!

Separated outside the rest of us in the same hell he made for the children of Hispanic kind!

“Do onto these, little ones, Jesus said, “as I have done to you!”

But what then, for him? Our President, he did not do as Jesus would have done!

If Jesus shuts him out, behind the wall, what then will he do?  In that great day, the True King will come and welcome all the children!  They will come inside with Him.   But President Trump, who went “Harrumph!” He will not go in!

The voice of one crying…

A Prayer for our President  and for those who lead:

In the words of Jesus, all who turn to Christ in repentance and faith shall be saved!  We are not only saved from ourselves, but we are also saved to participate with Christ our Savior in the coming of His kingdom upon this earth.  We would remiss without closing with a prayer for the leaders of the free world who have a significant potential for doing good.

“Lord Jesus Christ, Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us!  Have mercy upon our President Trump, who has apparently filled his heart with hatred, violence and war, who has not known your peace, nor the good news of what it means to be loved with an everlasting love.  Have mercy upon this man, O Lord, and others like him, that he and they may in due season find their way in this wilderness of  life to bow before You and acknowledge that you alone are God, the Lord and King of the Universe!

We remember also the little children of our world, displaced from their homes by war, violence, greed and divisions of race, creeds and politics, driven along by angry men who are filled with lust for power, dominance and position.  Hear our prayer, dear Lord Jesus Christ, and remember these little children who are dying, some from hunger and displacement, and some from Sarin gas.  O dear God, the horror of what these young children are enduring is unspeakable.  Give them a voice to be heard, and raise up those who will protect them from this evil and harm.

You alone, O Lord, our God and Savior have the power to break the power of death and to make right what is wrong and to bring forth good from the evil in this world.  Destroy the power of death and break this curtain of darkness which is enclosing our planet at this time.  Bring to justice those who perpetuate the evil of killing little children who are asleep in their beds, suffocating them with poison Sarin and chlorine gas.  Help those who are refugees and grant them a good home.  Right what is wrong and remind all of us of what is good, true, lovely and of a good report.

And since our politicians seem paralyzed and seemingly cannot do anything to help these children, raise up others, both men and women of righteousness and peace who will do this work for them, and save our childen’s lives, for we pray in the strong and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, the Living Savior of God, for you have come to to save us and our world, to save all of us from our sins.  In your holy name we pray, Lord Jesus Christ, for you alone are the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.  Amen.
